On 27 February, security forces in Sirte arrested three suspected ISIS members. The ISIS cell and its potential network is being further investigated.

12 – 18 February: Security forces arrest alleged ISIS member in Benghazi
On 10 February, security forces in Benghazi arrested an Egyptian national who has been accused of being a member of ISIS.
5 – 11 February: Prosecutor tells Court Hashem Abedi is equally guilty
Last week, prosecutor Penny told a British Court that the brother of Salman Abedi, Hashem Abedi, is equally guilty of murdering the 22 victims of the Manchester arena attack in May 2017.
29 January – 4 February 2020: LNA claims to have arrested former ISIS media official
On 26-27 January, an unidentified drone flew over Sebha through to Murzuq suspected to be pursuing ISIS-Libya members. On 27 January, the LNA’s 173 Infantry Brigade claimed ISIS fighters had fired on the LNA’s Joint Security Room of Wadi Otbah. On 30 January, the head of the media office of the LNA General Administration of the Criminal Investigation of the Army, claimed to have arrested an alleged former ISIS media official.
22 – 28 January 2020: Tunisia said to repatriate six children of ISIS fighters in Libya
A delegation of Tunisian authorities arrived in Misrata last week, to work to repatriate six children of Tunisians killed in the ranks of ISIS in 2016.

8 – 14 January 2020: Suspected ISIS cells active in southern Libya
On 6 January, suspected ISIS “sleeper cells” were observed in southern Libya. On 8 January, the Ajilat Criminal Investigations Department undertook a raid targeting alleged anti-LNA fighters accused of interfering with the arrest of an ISIS fighter. On 9 January, an airstrike by an unidentified entity targeted ISIS fighters in southern Libya.
1 – 7 January 2020: LNA claims ISIS attempted a suicide attack in Abu Salim
On 22 December, reports suggest an ISIS convoy was observed moving from Ghadduwa in the direction of Murzuq. On 31 December, the LNA military information division claimed a fighter attempted to undertake a failed suicide attack targeting the Tariq bin Ziyad Battalion stationed in Abu Salim.
