On 26-27 January, an unidentified drone flew over southern Sebha through to Murzuq suspected to be pursuing ISIS-Libya members believed to be active in the area. On 27 January, the Libyan National Army (LNA)’s 173 Infantry Brigade claimed ISIS fighters had fired on the LNA’s Joint Security Room of Wadi Otbah killing one and injuring another five, in the country’s southwest region. The LNA forces allegedly pursued the attackers into the Dujal area, having killed two.
On 30 January, the spokesperson and head of the media office of the LNA General Administration of the Criminal Investigation of the Army, Walid al-Ufri, claimed to have arrested an alleged former ISIS media official, Mustafa al-Zoubik al-Misrati. He is accused of being a photographer for ISIS and was arrested inside Sirte.
