On 13 January, Turkish media reported that a Cypriot flight attendant, who was part of the crew that brought the Libyan jet to Turkey before it crashed near Ankara, killing Government of National Unity (GNU) Chief of Staff Muhammed al-Haddad and other senior officials, has been taken into custody as part of the ongoing investigation. The interrogation did not yield specific information and authorities released the woman, though authorities continue to investigate her connections.

Separately, on 8 January, French media outlets reported that Harmony Jets, the private aviation firm which operated the plane that crashed in Turkey on 23 December, is under investigation by the Lyon Public Prosecutor’s Office for suspected violations of the UN Security Council arms embargo on Libya.
