On 6 July, House of Representatives (HoR) Speaker Aqeela Saleh accused Head of the Presidential Council (PC), Muhammed al-Menfi, and his brother, Sami al-Menfi, of mobilising the demonstrators in Tubruq to storm the HoR building last week. Sami al-Menfi publicly denied the allegations and vowed to take Saleh to court. The Menfi tribe also responded to the allegations and called for a non-politicised, transparent investigation.
