On 6 February in the afternoon, an 18-year old man was killed by gunmen on al-Daman Street in the center of Zawiyya. The National Institution for Human Rights called on the MoI and the Attorney General to launch an urgent investigation into the incident and to prosecute the perpetrators. The assailants are reportedly affiliated with Othman al-Lahab, the commander of the Libya Army’s 103rd (Zawiyya) Infantry Brigade (aka al-Silaa Brigade).
