The battle between Haftar’s Operation Dignity forces and the Benghazi Revolutionaries Shura Council (BRSC) continues without any restraint. Contrary to previous claims from Operation Dignity forces, the port area continues to be highly contested and outside of both sides’ control. On Wednesday 26 November, airstrikes were carried out over the port by both airplanes and helicopters belonging to Operation Dignity forces. News article reporting in greater detail about bombing of Benghazi by Haftar’s air forces. A military source states that both helicopters (MI-35) and airplanes (Mirage 23) were employed in battle. The source further confirms that a bulldozer was attacked in the port area after it was found to be transporting weapons and fighters to the Benghazi’s Revolutionaries Shura Council (BRSC) positions. It is also worth noting that trucks and bulldozers have previously been used by radical Islamist groups in Libya and elsewhere as devices to launch large-scale suicide attacks to open breaches in well entrenched defence lines. The pre-emptive bombing of a bulldozer in the port likely implies the presence of substantial pockets of BSRC fighters still in the port area. See: http://www.libyaakhbar.com/libya-news/41876.html
