On 2 August, the European Union’s Operation IRINI released their results report for July 2022. They reported 74 merchant ships were investigated via radio calls and 19 were boarded. One ship, the MV VICTORY RORO, was inspected on 18 July and diverted after it was found carrying military cargo to Libya in violation of the UN arms embargo. Additionally, the report stated IRINI had monitored 28 suspected flights, 25 airports, and 16 ports in July, with one issuance of inspection for a suspected vessel in an EU member state port.
