On 27 February, the LNA’s Commander of the Moral Guidance Department, Khaled Mahjoub, reported that clashes broke out between the LNA’s Subul al-Salam Battalion (Ways of Peace) and armed groups south of Kufra during a patrol. Mahjoub reported that the LNA took control of four armed vehicles, destroyed three technical and killed a number of armed group members. Local media reported that a military source from the Subul al-Salam Battalion claimed that the force killed 26 armed group members and arrested 14 others. Some sources indicate that the armed group was the Chadian 128 Battalion and others the Sudanese Movement for Justice and Equality.
