On 3 August, Government of National Unity (GNU) Foreign Minister, Najla al-Mangoush, met with Khairi al-Tamimi, the Director of the Office of Libyan National Army (LNA) Commander Khalifa Haftar. According to a LNA General Command statement, the meeting concerned the work of the 5+5 Joint Military Commission, in additional to mechanisms to remove ‘all mercenaries and foreign forces from the homeland, and to disband the armed groups.’
