On 12 and 13 August, Libyan Army Chief of Staff (CoS) Muhammed al-Haddad and his delegation of six officers/senior civilians of the Libyan Army visited the 10th edition of the International Military-Technical Forum ‘Army-2024’ in Moscow on the occasion of an official invitation of the Russian MoD Andrey Belousov.

The Media Center of the Libyan Army General Staff emphasized that al-Haddad’s visit had the aim to expand the horizons of military cooperation between Russia and Libya. The Chief of Staff and his accompanying delegation inspected the latest combat technologies displayed. On the sidelines of the event, al-Haddad held talks with several high-level military delegations from participating countries.

On 14 August, Khaled Haftar, Chief of Staff of the Libyan National Army (LNA) Security Units, visited the exhibition. Unlike alHaddad, he and his delegation wore civilian clothes. In an interview with Russia’s TASS news agency, Haftar praised the ‘notable progress in the forum, particularly in new technologies and innovative approaches to training.’ Finally, Haftar stated that the connections between Libyan and Russian military personnel have been significantly strengthened.
