On 6 August, Libyan media reported that the sister of a female activist Nadine al-Farsi was kidnapped with her two young children in Benghazi. According to the father of the kidnapped woman, the Libyan National Army’s (LNA) Tariq Bin Ziyad Brigade (TBZ) was responsible for the kidnapping and did so to force Nadine al-Farsi to shut down her Facebook account. Nadine al-Farsi has been highly critical of LNA Commander Khalifa Haftar. Earlier this month, al-Farsi had published a phone recording with an LNA fighter Ali al-Mashai, in which he threatened to kidnap her sister if she did not close her Facebook page.
