On 28 January, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, along with her Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani and Minister of Interior Matteo Biantidosi, arrived in Tripoli for several high level meetings. Meloni and her delegation met with the Government of National Unity (GNU) Prime Minister, Abdul Hameed Dabaiba, to discuss cooperation between the two countries on energy and migration. Meloni and Dabaiba were both present at the signing of the US$8 billion agreement between the Italian company ENI and Libya’s National Oil Corporation (NOC) for the development of an Exploration, Production and Sharing Agreement (EPSA). Biantidosi discussed cooperation on migration and border protection with his Libyan counterpart, Emad Trabelsi, and they made preparations for a joint technical committee meeting between the two interior ministries in February.
