On 31 January, UN Special Envoy to Libya and the head of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL), Abdoulaye Bathily, met with the Moroccan Foreign Minister, Nasser Bourita, in Morocco where the two discussed events in Libya. Bourita reportedly offered Bathily access to Morocco to serve as a neutral space to hold dialogue and discussions between Libyan stakeholders. In the last week, Bathily is also reported to have discussed the situation in Libya with UN Security Council (UNSC) members Ghana, Mozambique and Gabon as well as meeting with ambassadors to Libya from Sudan, Chad and Niger.
