On 25 February the Attorney General said that it had established the identity of the perpetrator of the assassination attempt on Government of National Unity (GNU) Secretary of State for the PM and Cabinet Minister Adel Jumaa. The Attorney General has ordered the arrest of the suspect who it had established had fled the country for Tunisia. It has ‘taken measures to pursue him outside the national jurisdiction through international cooperation mechanisms and ordered the search and arrest of the contributors to the incident’.
