On 25 February, fires broke out in the town of al-Asabaa, around 120 km away from Tripoli, with apparently unexplained fires in several houses and cars around the town. The unusual nature led some people to speculate that the town had been attacked by jinn. Fire engines were sent to deal with the fires and the Government of National Unity (GNU) Ministry of Interior instructed the CID to launch an extensive investigation into the incident.
