On 24 January, two persons were wounded in armed clashes between the 103rd Infantry Brigade (aka the Silaa Brigade or al-Kabwat) from Zawiyya led by Othman al-Lahab and local militias in al-Ajilat (south of Sabratha).

On 27 January, Western Coast Military District Commander and Libyan Army Deputy CoS Salaheddin al-Namroush ordered troops to al-Ajilat to confront ‘armed gangs and criminal groups’ and restore security, safety, and the stability in this city.

A number of liquor manufacturing sites and several suspect houses were raided in al-Ajilat in the afternoon. Local authorities suspended classes within the administrative boundaries of the municipality until the security situation stabilizes.

On 28 January, there were reports that a Turkish drone flying over al-Ajilat had either been shot down or had malfunctioned.
