On 15 January, UN Special Advisor on Libya Stephanie Williams met with the Turkish Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sedat Unal, and Turkish Special Envoy, Can Dizdar, to discuss political developments in Libya, the electoral process and the way forward. In a statement on social media Williams reported, ‘We agreed on the importance of coherent and comprehensive regional and international support for Libya based on the progress made in the existing Libyan-Libyan dialogue.’
