On 4 February, West Coast Military Police Commander Ali al-Zeeb inspected the progress of the military operation in al-Ajilat. He visited educational facilities, banks, shops and gas stations, accompanied security patrols and the city’s traffic police. He emphasized again his instruction to avoid harassment of the population and to address complaints of citizens immediately.
On 6 February, troops of the West Coast Military District seized in the Sidra area of al-Ajilat several thousands litres of locally manufactured alcohol which was stored in part in a high school.
On 9 February in the evening, the commander of a Criminal Investigation Unit in al-Ajilat was arrested by the 103rd (Zawiyya) Infantry Brigade on the Coastal Road at the Najma Wa Halal Checkpoint (the turnoff from the Coastal Road towards al-Ajilat).
