On 6 March in the evening, clashes between security forces and drug traffickers, including allegedly some Chadian mercenaries, took place in Zawiyya.
On 8 March in the evening, the Nasr Brigade from Zawiyya, which is led by Muhammed Kashlaf aka al Qasseb, skirmished with the al-Muqannain militia from Zuwara in the vicinity of Zuwara. The two militias clashed off the coast using small patrol boats. One member of the al-Muqannain was killed and another severely wounded.
On 9 March in the evening, there was a gun fight between militias in the vicinity of the refinery in Zawiyya. Although there were also several shots in the direction of the refinery, there was no damage reported. One militia member was killed.
