On 23 September, Celeste Wallander, US Assistant Secretary of Defense for International Affairs, and a US delegation met with Libyan National Army (LNA) Commander Khalifa Haftar. According to the LNA, they discussed the prospects of cooperation and joint coordination to support the efforts of the LNA to eliminate terrorism, extremism and combating illegal immigration, as well as the latest developments in the Libyan crisis.
