Dabaiba discusses cooperation with US security officials

On 23 September, Prime Minister Abdul Hameed Dabaiba received Celeste Wallander, US Assistant Secretary of Defense for International Affairs, as well as the Deputy Commander of AFRICOM John Brennan and Jeremy Bernt, in Tripoli to look for ways to enhance cooperation between Libya and the US in the areas of counterterrorism, military capability development, and border surveillance. According to the Government of National Unity (GNU), the meeting addressed regional issues related to security and stability in North Africa, as well as the dangers of closing the oil fields and vital resources. The meeting was attended by Ibrahim Dabaiba, the GNU Minister of State for Communications and Political Affairs Walid al-Lafi, the Chief of Staff of the Libyan Army Muhammed al-Haddad and his deputy Salah al-Din al-Namroush.
