In the evening of 30 August, four power-generating units at the Zawiyya power station stopped operating due to an unidentified group shutting down the gas pipeline that supplies it. According to GECOL, this action poses a serious threat to Libya’s power infrastructure at a critical time, warning that the national grid is now at risk of total collapse. On 31 August in the morning, GECOL announced that it was possible to reopen the gas pipeline.
