Muammar al-Dhawi, commander of the 55th (Wershefana) Battalion, attended an expanded security meeting at the Jafara Security Directorate. The purpose of the meeting was to assess the security situation in the municipalities of the Jafara Plain and to strengthen coordination between the various security and military actors in the field to achieve stability.
On 30 May in the morning, the Jafara Security Directorate announced patrols in support of the Tripoli Security Directorate, stating the goal is to ‘maintain security’ in the capital. On 31 May, the Social Council of Souq al-Jumaa and the Four Suburbs announced the defection of several soldiers from the (pro-Dabaiba) 444 Brigade. They praised those who returned home and urged the others to do the same.
On 2 June, Tripoli Security Directorate Director General Khalil Wahba chaired an expanded coordination meeting at the directorate’s headquarters with representatives from a number of security and service agencies as part of security and service preparations to secure the capital during the Eid al-Adha holiday.
