On 12 November, the commander of the Special Forces in Tripoli, Brigadier General Muhammed Abdullah al-Sadai was killed after he was shot inside the Mitiga military base in Tripoli. The Special Deterrence Force (Rada), which controls Mitiga and the surrounding area, said it has no connection to al-Sadai’s killing. It explained that the accused attacker is a military officer with the rank of Chief Warrant Officer who belongs to the Special Forces. Rada added that the shooting was carried out with a personal weapon and in a location outside Rada’s deployment area inside the base.

On 15 November, the Attorney General ordered the detention of the individual accused of the murder of al-Sadai. The AG said the incident occurred when the accused stopped the victim as he was walking home. The accused demanded that he get out of his vehicle without giving any reason. When the victim refused, the accused brandished a firearm and fired shots that killed him. The accused confessed to committing the crime, and the Attorney General ordered his pretrial detention pending further investigation.
