On 28 April, the Government of National Unity’s Chief of Staff Muhammed al-Haddad visited Zawiyya and met with protestors and civil society, affirming that the protestors concerns and demands were legitimate. Following meetings with Haddad, the protestors agreed to form a 15-member committee made up of the youth protestors, military leaders, and tribal dignitaries. The committee will work to find solutions to the current issues in Zawiyya.
