Prominent Tebu leader allegedly arrested by LNA

On 3 July, it was revealed that Tebu tribal leader Hassan Moussa Keley was arrested by the Libyan National Amry (LNA) in mid-June in the oasis town of Rabyanah, about 130 km west of al-Jawf/Kufra.

He is accused of having tried to facilitate the influence of the Government of National Unity (GNU) in the area and of having established a network for recruiting young Tebu as mercenaries for the GNU. Furthermore, he allegedly tried to mediate a dialogue between Chad´s president Mahamat Idriss Deby, whose mother is of Goran origin, a subgroup of the larger Tebu community.
