On 8 September local leaders in Warshefana and Zawiyya announced that a truce had been reached to resolve the rising tensions in the region. According to reports, Muhammad Bahroun (also known as ‘al-Far’, the ‘Mouse’), Muhammad bin Rajab and Othman al-Lahab agreed not to launch an offensive on Muammar al-Dawi affiliated groups. Some reporting suggests that Dawi and Abu Zuriba were able to keep their existing territory and Warshefana, including al-Maya Detention Centre and port and in return they have been required to withdraw from Bridge 27 (a junction 27km from Tripoli). Unconfirmed reports have claimed that the agreement stipulated for Haithem Tajouri and Ayoub Abu Ras to leave Warshefana and that forces belonging to Zintani Commander Osama Juwaili would withdraw to the Fourth Brigade camp in Al-Aziziyah (40km south of Tripoli).
