On 26 April, the French site ‘Africa Intelligence’ said that Paris intends to host representatives of the US, UK and Italian foreign and defense ministries in the next few days to discuss security issues in Libya. The meeting will be chaired by French Special Envoy to Libya and will focus on sovereignty and securing Libyan borders. Specifically, France reportedly plans to put forward a plan to form joint units to secure the borders with the Chiefs of Staff in the East and West, Muhammed al-Haddad and Abdurrazaq al-Nadhouri respectively, in addition to including officers of the 5+5 Military Commission. The meeting also intends to discuss the removal of Russian forces in the country, as well as other foreign mercenaries.
