On 27 January, photos circulated on social media of the Chargé d’Affaires at the US Embassy Libya, Leslie Ordeman, meeting with the Commander of the Warshefana 55 Battalion, Muammar al-Dawi. The image was not shared on official US Embassy pages and no details of the meeting were provided. Libyan media sources reported that during the meeting the two discussed enhancing bilateral relations between Libya and the US.
