Menfi meets with key western region armed groups and representatives

On 31 March, Presidential Council (PC) head Muhammed al-Menfi held an extensive meeting that included the Libyan Army Chief of Staff Salahadeen al-Namroush, the Head of the General Intelligence Service Hussein al-Aib, the Head of the Special Deterrence Force (Rada) Abdurraouf Kara, the Head of the Presidential Guard Atiyah Al-Talib, and the Head of the Stability Support Apparatus (SSA) Hassan Abu Zuriba. This meeting was held within the framework of his diligent follow-up on developments in the security situation and to strengthen joint coordination efforts between the various military and security institutions. During the meeting, the President stressed the importance of unifying ranks and strengthening discipline, which contributes to protecting citizens and preserving state institutions.

On 1 April, he met with a number of social figures, elites, and representatives from various segments of the population of Greater Tripoli, ‘as part of efforts to enhance community engagement in national development.’ According to the PC, the meeting affirmed its unwavering support for the national reconciliation and transitional justice project led by al-Menfi.

On 2 April, al-Menfi met with several military commanders from Zuwara to discuss his ongoing efforts to consolidate discipline and strengthen coordination among various security leaders.

On 3 April, al-Menfi met separately with the Deputy Head of the Presidential Guard’s Support and Logistics Unit and Commander of Battalions 107 and 32, tasked with securing Tripoli and Mitiga International Airports, Brigadier General Ramzi al-Qamoudi, and with Captain Mohammed al-Hassan, a member of the Security and Military Arrangements Committee and Commander of the 461st Border Guard Battalion.

On 7 April, al-Menfi met with the commander of the Western Military Zone Osama al-Juwaili in the framework of continuing military coordination and strengthening direct communication channels with the commanders of the military areas.

PC Deputies Abdullah al-Lafi and Musa al-Koni have also been engaging with key security actors this week. In addition, Sami al-Menfi, brother of the PC head, has recently visited Paris where he met with the French Envoy to Libya Paul Soler. He is also understood to have visited Moscow.
