On 15 December, the head of the Presidential Council, Mohammed Menfi, dismissed the Commander of the Tripoli Military Zone, Abdul Baset Marwan, from his position. It is rumoured that Marwan is to be replaced by Abdulqader Khalifa. Earlier in the week, Menfi had assigned the current head of the Tripoli Revolutionary Brigade (TRB) and Deputy Head of the Stability Support Apparatus (SSA), Ayoub Abu Ras, as a commander of the Presidential Guard.
