On 10 August, UNSMIL strongly condemned the fighting in Tajoura and welcomed the efforts to de-escalate the situation. Other countries such as the UK and US added their support to the UNSMIL statement. High State Council (HSC) president Khaled al-Mishri initally condemned the attack on al-Bugra and called on the Attorney General to initiate an investigation. He later called on both sides to exercise restraint.

On 11 August, the HSC issued a statement welcoming the ceasefire in Tajoura and calling on all parties to fully respect it. The Government of National Unity (GNU) did not comment on the fighting. The ceasefire provided for the withdrawal of the Misrata and al-Bugra militias (to their camps) and the deployment of a ‘neutral force’.
