On 25 July, reports surfaced claiming that the Libyan National Army (LNA) had sent military reinforcements to carry out large-scale operations against ISIS in southern Libya. Sky News Arabia reported that the LNA was to make ‘decisive’ moves in order to neutralise ISIS elements, which is not an easy task given the terrain of southern Libya, in which extremist groups can move and hide with ease. The LNA are reportedly aiming to cut off supply lines to extremist groups.
