On 25 April, the Libyan National Army (LNA) Military Information Division announced that it had conducted a security operation against ISIS elements near Ghadduwa, approximately 70km south of Sebha. The LNA’s Commander of the Moral Guidance Department, Khaled Mahjoub, reported that the Tariq Bin Ziyad (TBZ) Brigade was on patrol when it noticed a suspicious vehicle. On approaching the vehicle, members of the TBZ Brigade opened fire, injuring the drivers who then fled. Explosive devices were found in the vehicle, leading the LNA to conclude that the drivers were ISIS affiliated. The LNA’s Military Information Division claimed that the explosive devices were booby traps.
