On 6 May, the US Embassy said that last week, a delegation of military officials from throughout Libya participated in the African Land Forces Summit (ALFS) in Zambia which brought together 750 representatives from across Africa and other partner nations. The embassy stressed that it supports ‘Libyan efforts to unify and professionalize military institutions and achieve lasting peace and stability.’ The event was sponsored by the US Army Chief of Staff and co-hosted by US Army Southern European Task Force, Africa and the Zambian Army.
