On 17 September, the (eastern) Anti-Illegal Immigration Agency deported 81 migrants from Benghazi after completing the required legal, medical and security procedures. According to the agency’s Greater Benghazi branch, the group consisted of 78 Sudanese and three Pakistani nationals. Officials reported that 61 of the Sudanese migrants were diagnosed with infectious diseases, although the nature of the illnesses, their medical conditions and any treatment provided were not disclosed. The agency also did not specify the destination of the deportees or the method used to carry out the operation.

On 19 September, the (eastern) Anti-Illegal Immigration Agency’s al-Butnan (Tubruq district) branch announced the deportation of 202 irregular migrants of various nationalities in two separate groups. According to the agency, the first group was deported through the Umm Sa’ad land border crossing, while the second was transferred to the Qanfouda Reception and Deportation Centre (12 km south of Benghazi) to complete the remaining procedures before being returned to their countries of origin. On the same day, the Agency’s Al-Wahat branch deported 15 Sudanese nationals. On 21 September, 76 Chadian migrants were deported from Benghazi by air to N’Djamena, Chad.

On 18 September, the eastern coastal security forces intercepted 17 Sudanese migrants near Kambut, about 60 km east of Tubruq, before they could embark on an illegal Mediterranean crossing. Acting on reports of suspicious activity received from local residents, security patrols were deployed to the coastline and reached the area before the intended departure. Authorities credited community cooperation for the success of the operation and encouraged residents to continue reporting suspicious movements along the coast. There is no information whether any vessel or equipment was seized, whether suspected human traffickers were involved or where the migrants were taken afterwards.
