June 21-27: BM Forces Capture ISIS fighter; Suicide attack at Sidra gate checkpoint
Forces belonging to the GNA-aligned BM forces allegedly captured an ISIS fighter, during an operation to retrieve hijacked fuel trucks south of Sirte. Lone-wolf suicide attack at the LNA controlled Sidra gate checkpoint, kills the assailant and one other.
June 21-27: Saudi Arabia’s detains 2 senior commanders in Zawiyya’s al-Farouk brigade
On 25 June, Haftar received a UAE Armed Forces delegation led by Deputy Chief of Staff Major General al-Mazrouei just one month after Egyptian chief of staff visit. Two prominent Zawiyyan militia members detained by authorities in Saudi Arabia on return from pilgrimage.
June 21-27: BDB Dissolves, Muslim Brotherhood to Follow
The BDB announced it will dissolve itself and that some members will enlist in the formation of a legitimate Libyan army. The Libyan National Army (LNA) fully retook the Souq al-Hout area and the main central square in Benghazi. The Grand Mufti, calls for hard-liner Islamist factions and revolutionaries to reassemble and save a ‘dying’ revolution.

Last week, Libyan National Army (LNA) commander Khalifa Haftar met with the heads of various eastern Libyan tribes in the LNA headquarters of Rajmah in Benghazi.

14 – 20 June: Ghassan Salame appointed as UN Envoy to Libya
On 16 June, the UN Secretary General nominated Lebanese professor and politician Ghassan Salame as UN Special Envoy for Libya, in replacement of outgoing envoy Martin Kobler. Russia invited Thinni to Moscow for talks this week.
