Libya´s Anti-Illegal Immigration Agency has further increased its efforts to deport illegal migrants throughout the country. Among others, 800 Sudanese, who had been arrested in various areas of central and southeastern Libya, were transported by land back to Sudan on 18 July. Most of them had either infectious diseases or a criminal record according to the Libyan authorities.

On 23 July, 97 Egyptian migrants were deported through Umm Sa´ad border crossing back into their country. On the same day, 181 migrants from Egypt, Bangladesh and Eritrea were detained in police raids in Umm Saad and Tubruq. On 25 July, 30 migrants were detained in Tubruq. On 26 July, 23 illegal migrants detained in Derna were deported back to Egypt.

On 22 July, the eastern Anti-Illegal Immigration Agency launched a major security operation through its Desert Patrols Department to tighten control over desert routes in the Sea of Sands area in the Eastern Desert, aiming to curb smuggling and human trafficking. The operation is coordinated with regional offices in Al Wahat, Al Bayda, and Al Butnan and carried out under tough field conditions in remote regions. On the same day, the Sebha branch said that it continues daily patrolling as part of a comprehensive plan to arrest illegal migrants.

On 26 July, authorities detained around 1,500 undocumented migrant workers during a large-scale raid east of Tripoli, targeting a compound with makeshift housing. Most of the migrants, mainly Egyptians and sub-Saharan Africans, lacked residency permits, passports, or health records. Government of National Unity (GNU) Labour Minister Ali al-Abed talked about poor living conditions and safety concerns at the site, which housed small businesses and basic facilities. The workers will be transferred to immigration centers, with legal action pending, though their deportation status remains uncertain.
