On 28 March, the Italian news outlet Nova reported that an agreement has been signed between the Italian and Libyan Air Forces for the training and education of pilots from Libya in the context of the fight against illegal immigration. This was stated by the Chief of Staff of the Italian Air Force, Air Squadron General Luca Goretti, on the sidelines of the ceremony for the 102nd anniversary of the armed forces, held on 28 March. The document was signed via video link by the Chief of Staff of the Libyan Air Force, Brigadier General Emhamed Goujil, authorized by the Chief of the General Staff of the Government of National Unity (GNU), Muhammed al-Haddad, and by General Goretti himself for the Italian side.
