On March 10, a French couple who joined ISIS in Liyba were sentenced to prison by an Assize Court in Paris. According to reports, the couple joined ISIS in Libya with their two children in 2016 before being handed over to Egyptian authorities in April 2019 and deported to France the following month. The couple were found guilty of terrorist association and compromising the health, education, and safety of their two children. The husband, Chaïb Attaf, was sentenced to 17 years in prison while the wife, Dounia Bentefrit, received a 5-year sentence, although Bentefrit had already served 5 years in jail and was able to leave following the trial.
