On 14 June, ISIS claimed responsibility for an ambush and improvised explosive devise (IED) attack that killed the commander of an Libyan National Army (LNA) patrol, Captain Ali Muhammad Othman, near Haruj (Harouj) Mountains. According to reports, the LNA was undertaking an operation to capture the ISIS cells responsible for the SVBIED the week before in Sebha.
