On 10 October, a demonstration of several hundred people in support of the Palestinians or Hamas took place in Tripoli. Some participants raised the Palestinian flag alongside the Libyan flag and wore the Palestinian keffiyeh, a symbol of Palestinian nationalism.
On 13 October and during the days before, the Palestinian Embassy and the Palestinian community in Tripoli, as well as the ‘Libya supports the Flood’ movement called for a demonstration in support of Palestine that afternoon at Martyr’s Square. About 1,000 to 1,500 people participated in the pro-Palestine demonstration. There were no incidents. Demonstrations with up to several hundred participants also took place in several other cities, such as Misrata and Masallatah.
