On 9 August the High State Council (HSC) condemned ‘in the strongest terms’ an attempt to kidnap HSC member Nizar Kawan after he left the voting session on 6 August and applauded the Attorney General for swiftly launching an investigation into the incident. The statement noted that Kawan is safe.
