On 9 August in the morning, an assassination attempt was made on Bashir Khalaf Allah (aka al-Bugra), the commander of the Rahbat al-Daraa Brigade, in Tajoura – east of Tripoli – but failed. An armed group from the Martyr Sabria Brigade opened fire on al-Bugra and wounded him seriously.

Subsequently, very heavy fighting between the Rahbat al-Daraa Brigade and the Martyr Sabria Brigade took place from late morning. Later in the afternoon, after hours of fighting, the Rahbat al-Daraa Brigade succeeded in taking possession of the Martyr Sabria Brigade HQ, Camp Sabria in al-Hamidiyah. The camp of the Misrata Joint Force, located in the same place, was also attacked. The fighting drew in Misratan forces and saw other Tripoli groups mobilise, with the conflict temporarily shifting eastwards to Garabulli.

On 10 August, small clashes took place in Tajoura between the Rahbat al-Daraa Brigade and the Martyr Sabria Brigade. The Misrata Joint Force took possession of the Rahbat al-Daraa Brigade HQ in Garabulli in the late morning. Most of the Rahbat al-Daraa Brigade forces withdrew without fighting from Garabulli to the eastern edge of Tajoura. Subsequently, the Misrata Joint Force slowly advanced further along the coastal road towards Ta-joura. On the way there were minor skirmishes with the delaying forces of the Rahbat al-Daraa Brigade. The Special Deterrence Force (Rada) and its allied Judicial Police called on al-Bugra not to abandon the coastal road. In the background, negotiations on a ceasefire were initiated, which provided for the withdrawal of the Misrata and al-Bugra militias (to their camps) and the deployment of a ‘neutral force’. The negotiations were successfully concluded in the early afternoon of 10 August. Subsequently, the Rahbat al-Daraa Brigade withdrew from Camp Sabria in al-Hamidiyah and handed it over, together with the confiscated weapons, vehicles and equipment, to the Martyr Sabria Brigade allied with the Misrata Joint Force. In addition, the Misrata Joint Force withdrew from Gara-bulli and the 111th Brigade was deployed on the coastal road between Garabulli and Tajoura.
