On 9 March, the Government of National Unity (GNU) Army Chief of Staff, Muhammed al-Haddad, met with the Chief of Staff of Algerian People’s National Army, Lieutenant General Said Chenegriha, at Algerian People’s National Army Headquarters in Algiers. Reportedly, Chenegriha stressed the need for an exchange of views on regional developments and bilateral cooperation during the meeting. Chenefriha gave a public statement after meeting with Haddad where he pledged to help Libya overcome security and political crises, saying ‘Our common history and the support of the Libyan people for the Algerian revolution require us to work to resolve the crises affecting the security of the region’.
