Fighting between militias in Surman leaves several dead

On 26 March late in the evening, a militia led by Nouri al-Raitimi, who is affiliated with the 103rd Infantry Battalion aka al-Silaa, clashed in residential areas in al-Anqar in southern Surman with the local Stability Support Apparatus (SSA), led by Sayed Ali bin Rajab aka al-Rabaiaah. Both sides used heavy infantry weapons in the fight. The fighting continued until the early morning.

During the fighting, a number of people were wounded and several were killed. However, there are no official figures about the number of casualties.

On 27 March in the evening, Nouri al-Raitimi’s militia and the SSA briefly clashed again in Surman, causing widespread panic among local residents.
