On 21 June, the head of Egyptian General Intelligence, Major General Hassan Rashad, flew to Tripoli where he met with Government of National Unity (GNU) PM Abdul Hameed Dabaiba and his entourage, including Ibrahim Dabaiba and Walid al-Lafi among others. According to the GNU, they discussed bilateral cooperation as well as thelatest political developments in Libya, with both sides emphasizing theimportance of continuing coordination and consultation in a way that serves theinterests of both countries, supports security and stability in Libya, preservesthe country’s unity and sovereignty, and strengthens efforts to unify nationalinstitutions and consolidate the peaceful political process.
