On 8 March, the head of the Libyan Illegal Migration Control Agency, Salah Mahmoud Al Khafifi, received the Consul General of Chad, Hassan Al Daisiri, in Benghazi to discuss key issues related to Chadian migrants and residents currently living in Libya. The talks focused on ways to regulate their legal status in accordance with Libyan laws and immigration regulations. Officials also discussed mechanisms for coordinating the repatriation of irregular migrants and individuals subject to deportation who hold Chadian nationality.
