Deputy MoD Zoubi heads Libyan delegation at the African MoD conference

On 15-17 October, the African Defense Ministers conference was held at the Adwa Memorial Museum in Ethiopia’s capital Addis Ababa. The conference, themed ‘Africa: United in Peace, Strong in Security’, was chaired by Ethiopia’s Minister of Defense Aisha Muhammed. A key topic was how to enhance mutual cooperation between African countries as well as between the regional organizations. It was agreed to expand intelligence sharing and to work on developing procedures for joint operations. Actionable solutions to contemporary security threats were discussed. At the end, it was agreed to develop a strategic roadmap to promote security and stability on the continent.

The Libyan delegation was headed by Government of Nationaly Unity (GNU) Deputy Minister of Defence Abdussalam Zoubi and included the Director of Military Intelligence (and Commander of the 444 Brigade) Mahmoud Hamza, the Commander of the Counterterrorism Force Muhammad al-Zain, the Chief of Staff of the (MoD) Border Guard Muhammed Lakri, and the Director of the Office of the Undersecretary of Defense.
