On 9 March, PM Abdul Hameed Dabaiba hosted a delegation of elders, notables, municipal leaders and militia leaders from Wershefana. Among the militia leaders was Muammar al-Dhawi, commander of the 55th Wershefana Battalion and probably currently the most influential leader of the Wershefana. In his remarks, Dabaiba emphasized the importance of national unity and reconciliation among all components of society, stressing that direct communication with local leaders is essential for stability, development, and national cohesion.

The discussions highlighted the need for stronger cooperation between the government and community leadership to support development projects, promote consensus, and enhance security and stability across the country. The initiative is part of the government’s broader effort to deepen outreach to local communities, advance national reconciliation, and reinforce unity amid ongoing political and economic challenges, with the aim of fostering stability and comprehensive development.
